Mona Lisa Touch is a fast and effective laser treatment to resolve vaginal atrophy and urinary incontinence symptoms by rejuvenating youthful tissue and restoring femininity. It’s a quick 10-15 minute laser treatment that is incredibly effective at resolving vaginal and urinary incontinence symptoms (atrophic vaginitis) which effects about 50% of women. Usually occurring in women between 45-55 years old, the symptoms of vaginal atrophy can occur in during pre-menoupase, menopause and post-menopause.

The treatment works by helping the vaginal wall’s tissue to naturally regenerate preventing long term hormone or prescription drugs treatment.

The initial consultation involves meeting with a doctor to discuss symptoms and concerns, an examination to ensure suitability and an up to date pap smear result. If suitable the patient may begin the treatment straight after the consultation.

The treatment session takes  10-15 mins. A sterile, smooth probe is carefully inserted into the vaginal canal. The laser treatment involves a mid vibrating sensation which maybe slightly, following treatments should be more comfortable. For the best results patients may require 4-5 sessions.

The treatment restores your vagina to an elastic and healthy functioning state, as well as strengthening the tissue that supports the bladder to reduce incontinence symptoms.

Overall results have been very successful with improvement to patient’s symptoms; much better lubrication, stronger tissue with a significant reduction in pain (or no pain) during intercourse, decreased vaginal burning and itching sensation, better urinary control and reduced stress incontinence, less vaginal and bladder infections, vaginal tightening and better elasticity, increased sensation and orgasm and increased libido and confidence

Relief lasts between 12-18 months. Patients may need a top up treatment every one to two years.

Calibre offers a treatment for erectile dysfunction enabling better sexual performance. The Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) procedure uses the patients own concentrated blood platelets and growth factors to trigger the repair and regeneration of tissue and vessels in the penis. This enhanced blood flow and nerve sensitivity and helps the patient to achieve and maintain a normal, healthy erection.

Calibre Clinic uses the most advanced and highly concentrated extraction system available, called EmCyte PurePRPII.

The initial step is a consultation with a doctor in order to identify the cause of the problems and ensure the patient receives the right treatment. During this consultation the doctor will look at the patients’ current medications, weight, lifestyle factors, psychology, illness and hormone balance.

The procedure starts with a blood extraction, the blood is then double spun in a centrifuge to extract the required components, 20-30 minutes later the PRP is ready to e injected.

Before injection a numbing cream is applied to the penis. During a 10-minute period the PRP is injected into the parts of the penis where blood flow is most important.

Patients may experience swelling and tenderness during the procedure which will go within 1-2 days. The area needs to be kept clean for a week and the patient must refrain from sex for at least 3 days.

Most patients see benefits with stronger and longer-lasting erections, prolonged sexual performance, increased sensation, enhanced appearance of penile skin, it may assist with prostate discomfort and may assist with Peyronies curvature.

Several sessions maybe arranged 4-8 weeks apart, results remain noticeable for 12-15 months and a yearly top up is recommended.

Acne scars are caused by injury to the dermal layers of the skin as a result of inflammation and rupturing of the oil glands. Collagen is disrupted by the inflammation, resulting in scaring.

Academy Face and Body offer a range of acne treatment depending on the severity of the scarring and the type of scarring, will depend on which treatment or combination of treatments are used and the number of sessions required.

The treatments offered include, Skin needling, DOT Exide Fractional Laser Treatment and CO2 Laser Treatment, these maybe used in conjunction with each other.

An initial consultation with the doctor is the first step in order to asses which treatment is best for the acne scarring.

Skin needling:

A treatment which involves the injection of very fine needles into the skin to trigger the natural healing processes and stimulate collagen growth. Usually six sessions are required.

DOT Exide Fractional Laser Treatment:

Suitable for most skin types, this treatment penetrates deep into the skin, delivering micro beams to trigger the natural healing process and generation of healthy collagen. Three to six treatment sessions are required.

CO2 Laser Treatment:

Pretreatment includes a pre-surgery preparation cream which needs to be added to the patients’ skin daily for at least a month. The laser targets water under the skin by vaporising and removing it adding heat in the process. Post treatment the area will have a protective cream applied. Three to six treatment sessions are normally required.

The aim of these treatments is to rebuild new collagen which in turn will restore an even structure to the skin and repair the scarring. Skin needing and acne laser removal achieve this because the cause of the scarring lies deep within the skin tissue and these treatments work at this level.
